Washing Machine Bearing Replacement — Signs, Process, Cost

Bearing replacement is the most complex and expensive washing machine repair. The machine must be completely disassembled. But done in time, it adds 5-7 years of life. Delayed — the drum grinds through the tub, belt snaps, motor burns out. A 150 AZN repair becomes 500+.

Signs of bearing failure

• Loud rumbling — especially during spin
• Rust marks — on the back of the machine
• Drum play — push the drum up and down. 5+ mm movement means worn bearings
• Oil stains on laundry — seal leaking grease
• Increased vibration

Process

1. Remove panels
2. Extract drum from tub
3. Press out old bearings
4. Clean housing
5. Install new bearings and seal
6. Reassemble
