Washing Machine Not Filling With Water — What to Do
You press start, the machine runs, but no water comes in. We see this problem most often in summer when water supply in Baku can be unreliable. But the city water isn't always to blame.
1. Check the water tap
It sounds obvious, but at least 2-3 times a week we arrive at a call to find the tap simply closed. After home repairs or water shutoffs, people forget to reopen it.
2. Clean the inlet filter
There's a small mesh filter at the end of the inlet hose. With Baku's water quality, it clogs in 6-8 months. Remove the hose, take out the filter, soak in vinegar for 15 minutes.
3. Check the hose
A kinked or compressed hose blocks water flow. Pull the machine away from the wall and inspect.
4. Solenoid valve
If simple checks don't help, the inlet valve is likely faulty. Normal resistance is 2-4 kOhm. Replacement requires a technician.
5. Pressure switch
This sensor tells the machine the water level. If faulty, the machine thinks it's already full and won't fill.
