Washing Machine Not Heating Water — Heater, Sensor, Board
You set a 60°C wash but clothes come out cold and stains remain? The machine isn't heating water. Baku's hard water is the heating element's worst enemy — limescale builds up and eventually burns it out.
Heating element (TEN) — limescale or burnout
Hard water creates a thick limescale layer on the heater, blocking heat transfer. The element overheats and fails. Test with a multimeter: normal resistance is 20-50 Ohm.
Prevention: Run an empty 90°C cycle with vinegar every 2-3 months.
Temperature sensor (NTC)
A faulty sensor sends wrong readings — the board won't activate heating or may overheat the water.
Control board
If heater and sensor are fine, the board's heating relay has failed — usually from power surges.
